本人数学背景，现在美国年薪8w，估计明年能涨到将近10w。如果不跳，08或09年可升
到AVP。
一直想上MBA，但又放不下现在的工作，公司不sponsor MBA，得自己出，而且得辞了工
作。我想走capital management/ALM 方向，现在做的并不是这个方向的，但一、两年
之内可以internal transfer到capital asset management department。
真心求教，xdjm觉得有必要申请MBA吗？benefit大吗？

that makes sense only if the company sponsors you. if that company doesn't,
go full time.
the problem with e-mba is that you don't get access to their placement. and
having access to placement is the only reason to go to an mba program.

I know in Wharton, E-MBA graduates have the same access to job placement as
MBA graduates do.

看了Kellog和Chicago的weekend program，G应该不成问题，只是花时间准备而已，不
果本科的GPA不高（~3.5），还有希望么？还有，这些学校都说要direct supervisor
的recommendation，我不想让公司知道我有意申请MBA，一般这种情况怎么办好？
上MBA对我的到底有什么帮助？真的很迷惘，主要是因为现在过得挺好的，想上MBA主要
也只是看中networking，但不离开现在工作，只能在芝加哥附近上，networking的帮助
又有多大？

我是数学背景，也有同样困扰。希望拿个MBA长工资和跳Management。
计划十一月注册一两门课再申。我在当地已有MASTER，可在学校里注册课。

取决于能申到什么档次的MBA。

It would be very rare if that's the case in general.
and I know specifically that in Wharton they do NOT give e-mba access to
placement.
