My boss once said something like "Randy really took his stand on the
meeting..."
The context is like,in the teleconference call, this Randy guy said something
was a bug in a very strong tense while some others were not thinking that way.
What does "someone takes his stand" mean actually?

从字面上看就是能够坚持自己的立场，不退缩。我想没什么其它意思吧。
