Either will provide quite some jobs for another 5-10 yrs.
So just pick the language you feel more comfortable.

Maybe 2 to 3 years later, there is J2Univeral Vs. dotPlanet.
Seriously, they are useful in certain level, such as mutiple tier business
applications, bring legacy applications up to date ..., like UPS definitely
want one of those, there are too many business applications running and need
J2EE or dotNet to hold them together.
But the point is neither J2ee or dotNet or whatever will invent will be
PROMISING, They are just tools, 2 year later new model comes, the old
model is discarded. I agreed t

如果你是个新手，当然是.NET,东西还比较新，对于大家都是有个开始的过程，而不是一
上来就低人几头的感觉(搞J2EE的很多人经验都很长，还有C/C++的历史什么的)，微软把
身家性命都压在.NET上了，你怕个头。以前有个牛人说过，这十几年市场，不管大家(主
要指企业)愿意不愿意，最终都是跟着微软的脚步走。
如果你就找工作而言，东海岸俺了解的，.NET机会显然多，而且.NET开发，使用成本较低
，很多中小公司也用得起，加上以前，现有的很多PRE .NET的项目，需要升级换代，市场
很大。你有本事玩转了，能捞份工作，俺保你至少今后5年不用考虑饭碗问题，长了，谁
知道呢。
至于J2EE和.NET谁优谁劣的大讨论，俺猜想也不是你关心的。

J2EE的市场也不错，现在。不过找工作的时候发现大多数fiancial firm,
IB，都是用.Net, 不知道有什么历史原因。
