I withdrew from NYU and accepted NWU instead because NWU offered $60K
scholarship. Did I make the right decision? After all, NYU is among the top
4,
while NWU lags far behind. Am I too short-sighted? I just cannot bear the
thought to have huge debt after graduation.

Definitely go to NYU. You'll see the difference in 6 months for your 1 year
summer intern searching.

说说而以,不过你要是在nyu保持一个不错的成绩肯定能去top10的所,nu恐怕就得要非常
不错的成绩了。当然如果你的经历很强的话也没啥问题。

Thanks :) I have always been a good student but I am not that confident in
law school amid all the rumors about the toughness of law school :P I am
not so ambitious in getting into top 10 firms. A relatively big firm with
sound
salary will be enough for me. Is that difficult for a NWU graduate?

They are both good schools.
I heard lots of people complaining about the quality of education at NYU.
It's a little bit overrated for its good location.
Don't they have huge 1L class, like 530 students?

Come on. NW is still a top law school.
I don't think students from NW will have any difficulty in finding a good
job.
If you are aiming for judicial clerkship, NYU maybe a much better choice.

Students from Cornell have no problem of finding good jobs in NYC, why would
NW be so much different?

almost all top 14 schools can find a job if your grade is above average. Ho
wever, the difference is NYU's student can get 20 call backs while NU's may
only get 5 call backs. If it's me, I'll choose NYU definitely. 60,000 is n
ot a big deal at all.

I thought 98% of the students can find a job. At least that's their claim.

You bet it's a wrong decision.
You will be increasingly regretful after classes start at NU.

Is the $60K the only difference between NYU and NW in your decision-making
process? If there is no other concerns such as family, relocation,
preferrence between NYC and Chicago, etc, then I would say NYU is worth the
$60K extra, which is no that much when you look back in a few years.
That said, it is totally understandable to choose NW over NYU if you have a
strong tie to Chicago, or dislike NYC as I do.

//hand. same here, I choose to stay in DC as opposed to moving to NYC. Maybe
we can share how stupid our decisions are once the school starts.
Oh, Chicago is a lovely city. NW Law is right at the best location with Michigan Ave and Navy Pier within walking distance.
