一共3天分了6个section，每个section三四个speakers，包括cancer, metabolism,
neuroscience, immunology, plant, 和stem cell。

Metabolism: Ron Evens, Bruce Spiegelman, Tamas Horvath, Jeff Gordon, Joe
Goldstein;

Susumu Tonegawa;
Immonology & Virology: Inder Verma, Ruslan Medzhitov, Fiona Powrie, Dan

They are all excellent labs. They were or are on the top of their fields.
But the title misleading! Best is what they have/had achieved but may not
be the best for you! My comment is followed.
Keynote: David Baltimore
I had been his talk very often. But the most recent one is not that good!
to him! He was such an elegant talker but this time he is just a nice old
man. I did not see the fighter anymore.
Cancer: Tony Hunter, Bob Weinberg, Craig Thompson, Brian Druker;
Except Weinberg's lab, there are many other better labs out there.
Metabolism: Ron Evens, Bruce Spiegelman, Tamas Horvath, Jeff Gordon, Joe
Goldstein;
They are excellent scientists and very supportive to their people as far as
I know. Now is it good for you and your future?
Neuroscience: Terry Sejnowski, Susan K. McConnell, Larry Swanson, Bob Wurtz,
Susumu Tonegawa;
I would say Tom Jessell listed below is much better place. Also there are
many far better labs in this field.
Immonology & Virology: Inder Verma, Ruslan Medzhitov, Fiona Powrie, Dan

If I were you, I only pick Dan Littman.

It is a list of big names in the respective fields. There are more
productive ones, but less influential. There are more powerful ones, but
less scientific.

Only speaking of immunology & virology, Inder verma and Ruslan Medxxxtov
still do great work.

我不认为title有什么misleading。
我当初毕业前想换个方向做薄厚时，对其他field不熟，有哪些做的好的lab也根本不了
解。正好这个研讨会涵盖了6个比较有趣的方向，与会的水平也都不错，想了解该field
，可以从这些lab的paper和reference入手，所以说是‘参考’一下这些speaker，又不
是推荐读者去申请这些lab。
不是人人都像您这样博学多读，对这些领域都耳熟能详，以致可以对在列不在列的PI都
能评头论足一番，实在是令人佩服。
