Yes, Remeber in the filme " out of Africa", while I was
watching it, my
fathre said the music of Kenya really resemble " Yao(2)
Natiaonal folk songs of
southwest China.
Actually, the polyphony folk songs of Southern China and
Taiwan ( I have
no political meaning, just for geographical sense) are
really like
Africa Polyphonetic(Duo(1) Sheng(1) Bu(4)) songs. He has a
theory of geographical
ethnomusicology.

Oumou Sangare is the Malian singer I mentioned. Her songs are
very ethnic. Reminds me of the songs on chinese pairies(spelling?).
Another malian Habib Koite was also a fantastic musician. Their
popularity is rising in US after they snatched the top of European
charts of world music. Every time i connect to napster, people
would download their songs from my library.
