When company is doing this, in addition to the time you held the position
with the previous companies, can they get the info. regarding why you left
the previous position? The worry is too many laid-off could impact the
future job opportunity.

layoff is normal, it is the company's fault not yours. no need to worry
about that. as far as I know, they can only verify your title and the time
frame you worked there, maybe the salary as well. some companies may not be
able to provide the salary info.

Thank you very much for replying! I thought the company will not get the
info. regarding the reason you left. I am waiting for my HR friend to
confirm. You definitely helped with the answer.
