Are you passionate about reading and discussing literature, history, politics, economics, religion, the environment, and more? The Beijing American Center (BAC) announces its 2023 Spring American Studies Book Club! Apply now for a spot; only ten spots available.  

Participants will receive a book in English from the BAC each month, January - April 2023. Participants must read the book and be prepared to participate in the book discussions. These discussions will be facilitated by U.S. Embassy staff and will take place twice a month on Thursday afternoons from January to April 2023. (See below for dates and times.)   

Application Eligibility:
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Must be able to read and speak English at the high intermediate to advanced level.  
- Must be able to read one book in English each month.
- Must be able to attend all sessions in the four-month period.  

Application and Selection Procedures: 
- Fill out the application in its entirety and submit it by midnight, December 12, 2022.
- Up to 15 applicants will be interviewed (virtually) on December 22 and 23, 2022.
- Ten successful applicants will be accepted and notified on December 23, 2022.
- Note: This is a competitive application; not all applicants will be interviewed nor accepted into the program. Only ten slots are available.

The American Studies Book Club will take place at the Beijing American Center, U.S. Embassy. This is an in-person program, NOT on-line.
