毛宁：请问美国，你们害怕什么呢？
3月28日，外交部发言人毛宁主持例行记者会。
有记者提问：当地时间27日，联合国安理会就俄罗斯提出的“北溪”管道遭破坏问题（the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines）决议草案进行投票表决。我们了解到，这份决议草案最终没有获得通过。请问中方对这一结果有何评论？
毛宁表示，中方在安理会表决后的解释性发言中已充分表达了立场。（The Chinese side made clear our position in the explanation of vote after the voting at the Security Council.）
安理会理应担负起维护国际和平与安全的责任。俄罗斯提出的决议草案为查明真相提供了重要选项，但安理会未能就此达成一致，中方对此表示遗憾。中方注意到，不少安理会成员在发言中谴责“北溪”管道遭破坏事件，一些成员也指出调查要加快、信息要透明。这充分说明了全球跨国基础设施安全问题备受关注，全面、公正、透明、独立的国际调查至关重要。
The UN Security Council needs to step up to its responsibility for international peace and security. The draft resolution presented by Russia offers a meaningful option for the search for truth, yet the Security Council failed to agree on the draft. We express our regret and note that quite a few Security Council member states condemned the act of sabotage on the Nord Stream pipelines in their statements. Some called for speeding up the investigation and more transparency. This highlights the concern regarding the security of transnational infrastructure and the crucial importance of comprehensive, impartial, transparent and independent international investigations.
美国热衷于对其他发展中国家搞所谓“调查”，在这一对国际和平与安全构成严重威胁的事件上却遮遮掩掩，明显是搞“双重标准”。请问美国，你们害怕什么呢？
The US is usually enthusiastic about investigating developing countries, yet it has been hesitant to do so on an incident that seriously threatens international peace and security. This is typical double standard. What is the US afraid of?
中方期待相关调查工作尽快取得进展，早日让真相大白于天下，将肇事者绳之以法。
We hope the ongoing investigation will make progress and let the world know what truly happened soon, and that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
