新原则：当你听到别人描述正在发生的事情时，问问自己：他们是否有偏见？他们的目的是什么？

这个原则适用于任何情况：当你买东西时，征求意见时，读报纸时，看新闻时，等等。这是因为大多数人(虽然并不是所有人)都在试图向你推销一些能帮助他们有所得的东西。如果你能把这个问题记在心里，并寻找答案，你就能从更高的层次看问题，从而做出更好的决定。而且，如果你能分辨出谁是真正的朋友、谁是真正想帮助你的人，尤其是那些聪明的人，你的生活会比不这样做好很多。

This applies to everything: when you’re buying something, asking for advice, reading the newspaper, watching the news, etc. That is because most people (though not all people) are trying to sell you something that will help them get the things they want. If you can keep this question in mind, and get the answer to it, you will be able to see things from a higher level and make better decisions. And, if you can identify the people who are true friends or those who are truly trying to help you, especially the smart ones, you will have a much better life than if you don’t.
