个案报告或者病例系列是医生之间交流和相互学习的重要途径。

设计的主题包括：罕见病例、提示不同发表机制的特殊病例、罕见症状、特殊的治疗方法、药物罕见不良反应、罕见解剖结构、罕见家族等等。

个案报告/病例系列经常是临床新发现的基础。但在循证医学的背景下，却因位于临床证据的底层而被忽视。

不过，个案报告加上文献复习就会使研究更加丰满，证据变得更充分，部分杂志可以论著发表；而病例系列如果加上分组和统计分析，则会升级为病例-对照研究。

最近5年，Medline数据库收录到肿瘤科发表有1.2万篇个案报道，我们对此做了大数据分析。

分析显示，美国学者发表的该领域个案最多，其次是中国、日本、意大利和印度。

1，发表个案最多的期刊

发表个案报告/病例系列的期刊中，最多的期刊依次是Front Oncol （IF 4.7）、Medicine (Baltimore) （IF 1.6）、World J Clin Cases（IF 1.1）、Front Immunol （IF 7.3）、Onco Targets （IF 4）等期刊。

特别警惕：IF=0，意味着该期刊违背SCI收录。

可以看到，Thorac Cancer （IF 2.9，3区）从投稿到接收的平均时间为41天，其他还有Asian J Surg （IF 3.5，3区）43天、Curr Oncol （IF 2.6，4区）57天、World Neurosurg （IF 2.0，4区）54天，都是审稿速度比较快的期刊。
