美国旧金山街头实验！小彭用熊猫玩偶换到了什么？

冬令时的旧金山（San Francisco）和北京时差16个小时，山、海塑造了这座城市丰富的空间形态，街道上起起伏伏的上坡下坡，让人想起8D的山城重庆。

During wintertime, San Francisco and Beijing have a 16-hour time difference. The mountains and the sea have shaped San Francisco's diverse landscape, with many streets undulating up and down, reminiscent of China's Chongqing, a city known for its hilly terrain.

我拿着从北京带来的熊猫玩偶走上旧金山街头，准备进行一场国外流行的以物换物的街头实验。想看看经过和旧金山民众的多次交换后，我的熊猫玩偶能换到什么。

I'm going to start a bartering journey here. Pandas have always been loved by people from all over the world. I brought a panda doll from Beijing, and today, I will exchange it with the people of San Francisco to see what this panda doll will turn into in the end!

第一站，我来到旧金山标志性的叮当车（cable car）车站附近，向当地身穿交通系统制服的城市志愿者提出了交换邀请。

看到盒里露出的毛茸茸的熊猫脑袋，她两眼放光，直呼可爱（so cute）。

于是她爽快掏出交换的礼物：一个等比缩小的旧金山叮当车模型。

这个造型复古、开起来叮当作响的有轨电车，已经在这座城市里跑了整整150年。跟伦敦的红色电话亭一样，叮当车是旧金山的标志。

My panda doll was exchanged for a model of a San Francisco cable car. This vintage-styled cable car, which jingles as it runs, has been operating in this city for 150 years. Like London's red telephone booths, the cable car is a symbol of San Francisco.

第二站，我遇到一位刚刚从东海岸搬来旧金山定居的女孩，看上去年龄和我相仿。她用一副美国弗吉尼亚的牛仔靴耳环，换走了我手上的叮当车。

分别时，我们互祝了好运。她爽朗地笑着说：“这双靴子可以带你去任何你想去的地方。”

I met a girl from the East Coast who appeared to be around my age. She had a pair of Virginia cowboy boot earrings in her bag, and she exchanged them for the cable car I had. When we parted, we wished each other good luck. She chuckled and said, "These boots can take you wherever you want to go."

交换就这样一环环顺利地进行了下去。

旧金山是一座见证了中美民间交流悠久历史的城市。这里有北美最古老的唐人街，也是亚洲以外最大的华人社区。

甚至有一种流传很广的说法，说美国中餐的标志性的幸运饼干（fortune cookie），就是起源于此。

在唐人街的一位华人大姐那里，我换到了一件缀满金元宝的挂饰。她用朴实的语言告诉我，这件挂饰有“发财”的寓意：“大家有福，大家发。不要打贸易战，（不要）你针对我，我针对你——就可以了。”

"It’s a good fortune for everyone. Don't get into a trade war. Don't fight against each other," she said.

经过9次交换，我换到一张船票，登上了驶往旧金山著名地标金门大桥（Golden Gate Bridge）的游船。

在游船上，我告诉同乘的游客，今天是我的生日，傍晚时分的加州阳光下，他们围过来，你一言我一语地祝我生日快乐。

旧金山是联合国的诞生地。1945年，《联合国宪章》在旧金山签署。

而本周的中美元首会晤，也让全世界的目光重新投向旧金山。作为世界上最重要的一组双边关系，中美关系牵动着人类的前途命运。

This week's China-US summit has once again drawn the world's attention to San Francisco. As one of the most crucial bilateral relationships globally, the China-US relationship impacts the future and destiny of humanity.

中美关系基础在民间，希望在人民，未来在青年，活力在地方。

在两国关系处于关键十字路口的当下，我想，这场充满诚意和暖意的街头实验应该给我们启示。

Many relationships commence through exchanges—be it of items, ideas, or experiences. However, in the grand scheme of things, it is the shared values and commonalities of humanity that truly bind people's hearts. 

地缘摩擦虽时有发生，但正是人与人之间、地方与地方之间从不间断的交流，得以融化坚冰，支撑起这个世界，让它更像是一个命运共同体。
