Fly in the face of danger“
7grizzly 又发了新的俚语“Fly in the face of danger”.
7grizzly posted a new idiom “Fly in the face of danger”. In Chinese we can say “置身险境”.
There are lot of famous stories about “Fly in the face of danger” in Chinese history, “Jing Ke Assassinating King Qin” is one of them. And in this story, it mentioned a little guy Qin Wuyang. As Jing Ke wanted a helper for his mission, Prince Dan picked up Qin Wuyang, a young killer, to be Jing Ke’s assistant, although Jing Ke was dissatisfied with him. After singing a song in the farewell party, “The wind is rustling, the river is cold, a knight goes forth but never back!“, Jing Ke and Qin Wuyang flied in the face of danger to Qin Kingdom.
As expected, Qin Wuyang kept trembling in Qin Palace, so Jing Ke had to execute the mission by himself and failed in the end.
This story illustrates the importance of teammates: Having a weak teammate is worse than having a strong opponent.
