First, MS or PhD?
MS usually is on the clinical track and you can get a job in a hospital,
school, or private practice, with 100% confidence. Working environment is
quite good. Payment is not bad.
It's better to have a background in health related areas, psychology,
English, education, etc.
BTW, you need to be really good in English. If not, you may need to attend
to some accent reduction therapy, which usually is free for students in a
lot of universities with SLP major.
