刚交了485，H1B明年年初到期，怕万一到时485还没批的话，就只能用EAD，但还是希望
能renew H1B来保持这个安全身份，也帮爱人维持H4，不然万一一方出现delay就很麻烦。
所以我的问题是，485递交之后，还可以renew H1B不？这个renew对485的审批有没有影
响？

或者说怎么在law firm里面生存以及发展吧。大家畅所欲言，新手们问问题，前辈们也
请不吝赐教。
我来先提个问题：作为junior associate,有哪些错误应该避免？干活的时候应该特别注
意什么？怎么合适的为人处世？

很多东西还能学会的，比如干活时像DD要注意哪些东西，这些都是经验，新手没经验可
能糊里糊涂就犯错误。我觉得我2Lsummer就比1L summer干得好很多，1L summer的时候
糊里糊涂的，干了很多蠢事估计所里的人背后都在笑。

不是。 你可以任何时候缴。 但是你485批了， h1也就自动作废了

Avoid following "tips" from other associates blindly. The so called "tips"
from other associates are just like those "tips" you got in law school from
3Ls -- most of them wouldn't make any difference anyway.
Give your 120%, treat the partners like your own clients, don't try to game
the system or anyone. Stay out of office politics.
And read my old posts.

你和chena说得都很对，不过你们高看我们这些从来没有工作过的了，也就是说你们说的
太高level了。我们，起码像我和一些以前学理工科的，那是完全没有社会经验和工作经
验，很多最基本的东西还是能学的。就算有人在社交上有天赋，我相信也得先学一些基
本的东西才能显现出他的天赋，也得先搞明白一个陌生的地方的一些基本规则才能应用
。不过你说得很对关于怎么对待partner和office politics，多谢了。
其实除了社交以外，我更想问的是一些基本的工作上要注意的地方，这些法学院是不会
教的。比如我summer的时候，要是memo我就心里有底，由于法学院的培训，我基本知道
什么样的memo是好的。但是有一次让我review 一个很长的agreement的时候就有点抓瞎
虽然有term sheet，因为我不知道我做到怎么样是好，怎么样是不好，也就是说我看着
我的work product,我总是不放心，我感觉有些东西要是别人不提点一下，我根本不会
往那个上面想，很可能在practice某个点是重要的，但我根本想不到。summer的时候我
的mentor很nice，有问必答，而且他也跟我说只要尽

很多是天生，，，很多就不是做律师的料。特别是中年半路出家的。
科班的才有前途。

对了，我刚才的帖子不严谨，美国ＪＤ里面还是有一部分在外国读过法律本科的，他们
算是科班的，应该是最有前途的。

哈哈，还是不够严谨，应该说最有前途的是在美国llm以后转JD的。
没有对LLM兄弟姐妹不敬的意思，只是觉得这个科班出身太好玩乐。
