can be put into data section or bss section, like global variable. the
difference is the scope.

maybe this is a dumb question, but why static variable can not be put into
stack section?

its lifetime is beyond function call, so must not have the stack rewind
destory the static variable.
maybe this is a dumb question, but why static variable can not be put into
stack section?
