“Why do you want to work here?”
并不局限于面试,你可能会在校园招聘会,社交网络,偶遇闲谈等等情况下被问到这个问题。和往期我们谈到的个人介绍一样,这个看似闲聊的小问题实则充满心计。如若答错,轻则扣印象分,重则直接出局。是时候准备一个回答的套路了!
当被问到为什么想在这里工作时,很多人是怎样回答的?
1. For the money.
2. It seems like a nice place to work.
3. My cousin Fred works for you, and he says the benefits are great.
通过这个问题,面试官主要是想了解你想得到这份工作的潜在动机。仅仅是为了薪水,还是想成为公司不可或缺的一部分、并随着公司的发展而成长?上述答案都是关于“你想要什么”,而不是“公司需要什么”。过于耿直的答案是不会让面试官有兴趣雇用你的。你需要向他们表明你想成为“家庭的一部分”。
4. Because I know I can make a really good contribution.
5. Because I know you have an opening for ______________, and I am qualified."
“千篇一律类”比“耿直类”要好很多,但含糊其辞的,适用于任何雇主任何职位的大众模板是不会让你脱颖而出的。
上面的答案与雇主无关,所以不会给雇主留下好的印象。错误可以概括为两点:
1. 答案的重点都集中在这份工作对你的好处上。虽然很多公司都致力于维持员工的快乐指数。但此时他们并不关心你的利益,而是想知道雇佣你可以给公司带来什么好处。
2. 答案并不能体现你了解公司的需求。面试官想确定你对这份工作真的很感兴趣,而一个含糊其辞的、以自我为中心的回答并不能体现出这点。
那么如何避免这些错误呢?
为了交上一份优质的答卷,我们需要在以下四个方向做好充分的准备。
1. Know Yourself
了解自己。首先,思考你能为公司带来什么?你的个人投资回报率足够高么?你为什么是公司想要的人?逐点分析职位描述,将职位要求写下来,同时记录下自己所对应的成就、技能,确保自己匹配或超过这些要求。
为了将自己顺利的推销出去,准备一些例如“你最大的优点是什么?”"我们为什么要雇佣你?" "说说你自己?" "你对我们了解多少?" "你为什么想在这里工作?"这样的问题也是有必要的。
2. Know the Company
了解公司。提前做好功课,对即将面试的公司的文化,目标,产品,困难有一定了解。谈谈你喜欢这家公司的具体方面。了解公司的需求,以及你对“满足这些需求”的热情。
3. Know the Position
了解职位。展示你的优势与职位、公司文化的完美契合,表明你的“想要”与公司的“需要”是一致的。但同时要避免表现出“any job you find me qualified for”。
4. Know the interviewers and hiring manager (if possible)
尽可能多了解一些面试官的信息(可以根据名字职位,从LinkedIn的个人资料中获得信息)。学校、专业、爱好、家乡……所有调查出的信息都有可能帮助你和面试官建立融洽的关系。
一旦你完成了面试前的所有准备工作,你应该会更清楚地知道自己是否愿意为这家公司工作了。如果合适,可以根据你对公司信息的研究,给面试官留下深刻的印象。
