About
Asian Pacific American Voter Alliance Seeks a Remote, Full-Time Executive Director. Asian Pacific American Voter Alliance (APAVA) is seeking a remote, full-time Executive Director to increase the civic engagement of Asian American Pacific Islanders, develop a pipeline of AAPI political leaders, increase AAPI political representation, and help build a secure and equitable future for AAPI and all Americans.
The Opportunity
This is a critical time to expand AAPI political activism and engagement. Many AAPI Americans are eager to help develop an equitable future in this country. However, with a large percentage of them being first-generation immigrants coming from different political systems and cultural backgrounds, many need support to become more effective. According to 2020 census data, AAPI Americans make up over 6% of the population. Among them, a quarter is Chinese Americans. Their turnout and how they vote can make a difference in elections in some key districts. However, currently, there are very few organizations focusing on engaging them. It’s a gap that urgently needs to be addressed.
Our mission is to develop AAPI political power in this country. We have two key objectives to accomplish in the short and medium terms:
To develop a stronger AAPI donor network and activist community, and provide opportunities for them to engage in elections and advocacy effectively.
To build a pipeline of AAPI political leaders and help elect candidates who can represent the AAPI community and are willing to speak up for the community.
