Looking at the trending discourse on “nepo baby,” where we have surnames paving the way for many talents to showcase their personas, it is always intriguing when we encounter a mononym, Cher, Prince, Beyoncé, Madonna and a slew of artists whose name rings in the distinguished personas they bear. 

It seems the absence of surnames magnified their individuality and their creativity saturates the curt monikers. What happens when this juxtaposition harmonizes? 

This peakaboo episode features an inspiring interview with Sitka, an artist who forgone his family’s position in Turkey and founded his own gallery at the crème de la crème of Boston, Newbury Street.

After a twenty-year tenure as the print designer at Ralph Lauren in New York, Sitka now pursues his vision of making his name as an artist just as he steadfastly created iconic prints for the fashion house. 

Equipped with the sensitivity to textures and intuition about colors, Sitka is a maverick at painting across mediums. His works are seeped in Sitka’s personal frame of mind, whether seen in breathing florals on canvas or playful household accessories, they are alive with joy and meticulous in techniques.

Fong曾在美国著名机构的实习和艺术核心工作的经验能更好的为东、西方的艺术家和艺术观众们服务。

At the core of Lulu Fong’s career is a unique ability to utilize her personal transatlantic experiences in her continuous promotion of the arts. 

Fong received her M.A. in Arts Administration from Columbia University in 2020 and worked extensively for leading international galleries Hauser & Wirth (New York), Lisson Gallery (Shanghai) and Miguel Abreu Gallery (New York). 

With her academic training and professional experience unfolding at the heart of the art industry, Lulu Fong offers a particular standpoint that is needed to bridge gaps of Asian representation in both the creatives side and the audience of arts.
