Funding Amount

The first annual stipend is HK$420,090 (inclusive of the travel allowance at HK$13,350).

(The amount of the annual stipend will be adjusted after every 12 months during the fellowship period.)

Eligibility

(must fulfil all the respective criteria)

·     obtain a legal right to work and reside in HK during the Fellowship period;

·     have obtained / been conferred a PhD degree or an equivalent qualification on or after 1 January 2020 (i.e. not more than 3 years before 2023), OR will complete the requirement of a PhD degree or an equivalent qualification by 31 August 2024; and

·     be supported by a UGC-funded university at which s/he wishes to hold the Fellowship.

·      The PdF candidate should be a graduate in the relevant field of the research project(s) / activities to which s/he is to be assigned.

Remarks

1.  Nominee could either be nominated to PDFS or JC Postdoc Fellowship in the same exercise, but not both.

2.  If the Internal Selection Panel finds that a PDFS application is more suitable for JC Postdoc Fellowship, the application will be transferred to JC Postdoc Fellowship, and vice versa. The University shall have the final decision on which scheme an applicant is more suitable for. Nevertheless, submission of another application in the internal application system is not required in case of transfer.

3.  For JC Postdoc Fellowship, to be engaging in translational research industry attachment could be an advantage.

4.  Shortlisted nominees will be invited to complete formal application for respective schemes.
