My very strong view is that if Europe is to have a policy towards China, it should be based on Europe's discussions with China and not based on somebody else's.

谈到对中国的印象，罗奇表示自己第一次去中国是在1987年，之后又去过四次，中国令他着迷。即使已经到访过中国多次，但他认为自己对中国还算不上深入了解。他表示，欧洲大多数人谈论起中国时，似乎都观点狭隘。

So it's a country that fascinates me. That's a country that I don't know a lot about. But then most people who in Europe talk about China seems to have a very limited view of what the problem is.
