OCC-WCC 2024完美闭幕，明年端午再相聚

医术与艺术，虽仅有一字之差，其实都在考验术者的匠心精神。当文物医生与心脏医生面对面交流“技艺”时，第十八届东方心脏病学会议&世界心脏病学大会（OCC-WCC 2024）也悄然进入闭幕倒计时。伴随热烈的掌声，第十八届东方心脏病学会议&世界心脏病学大会（OCC-WCC2024）正式落下帷幕。

最后，葛均波院士宣布OCC 2025的举办时间定于：2025年5月29日-6月1日，邀请海内外专家同道届时再度相聚上海，不见不散！

Although there is only a one-letter difference between medicine and art in Chinese, both subjects require the ingenuity of the practitioner. When the cultural relic doctors and heart doctors exchanged "skills" face to face, the 18th Oriental Cardiology Conference & World Congress of Cardiology (OCC-WCC 2024) also quietly entered the countdown to its closing. With warm applause, the 18th Oriental Cardiology Conference & World Congress of Cardiology (OCC-WCC2024) officially came to an end.

Working together to promote development and build global "heart" health

Professor Liang Chun, Executive Chairman of the Conference and Chairman of the Cardiovascular Disease Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, presided over the closing ceremony and summarized the OCC-WCC 2024 conference overview. Professor Liang Chun introduced that this year's OCC and WCC were held at the same time to jointly discuss the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases from a global perspective, further enhancing the international perspective. Forums such as the Heart Failure Forum, the Coronary Heart Disease Intervention Forum, and the Oriental Cinema were extremely popular. This OCC-WCC had a total of experts and representatives from 37 countries and 29 different specialties participating, received a total of 3,770 paper submissions, arranged 58 academic forum units, 33 sub-venues, involving 332 academic chapters, and completed 1,218 academic reports. The Coronary Heart Disease Intervention Forum and the Structural Heart Disease Forum completed a total of 6 surgical broadcasts, the Oriental Live Studio completed 26 live broadcasts, and the Oriental Window completed 24 poster speeches. 

Daniel Piñeiro, President of the World Heart Federation and Co-Chair of OCC-WCC, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organizing committee of the conference. He said that the world is a big family and hoped that everyone could work together to improve the lives of patients and create a better future. Then Professor Piñeiro announced the list of WCC Best Oral Prize.

Innovation never stops, craftsmanship towards the future

Academician Ge Junbo, chairman of the conference, said in his closing speech that the original intention of holding an academic conference is to get together and learn from each other, so as to improve the level of clinical research. OCC and WCC are held at the same time, which not only builds a platform for in-depth communication and cooperation for experts and scholars in the field of cardiovascular disease around the world, but also contributes valuable wisdom and strength to the development of global cardiovascular health. In terms of content setting, OCC not only focuses on the future, but also pays more attention to clinical practice and academic debate, and promotes the growth of young doctors. The "Window of the East" unit not only inspires the academic enthusiasm of young doctors, but also builds a ladder for their growth, injecting new vitality and hope into the future development of the field of cardiovascular disease. The 7 surgical teaching cases provided by the Oriental Cinema are comprehensive and practical. Debate competitions, case competitions and other activities held in multiple forums not only inspire the academic enthusiasm of participants, but promote the in-depth integration of academic debate and clinical practice. On the road of exploring the unknown, OCC has never stopped. The opening ceremony was themed "Pan-vascular and Metaverse", looking forward to the future of the integration of pan-vascular medicine and metaverse. Integrating medical skills with medical techniques to allow participants to feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture is also a direction that OCC has been exploring, such as the development of Tai Chi charity activities, the establishment of intangible cultural heritage exhibition areas and experience workshops. Academician Ge emphasized that OCC is not only a display window for new technologies and new concepts, but a step to promote academic progress and innovation. Standing at a new starting point, OCC will embrace the world with a more open attitude, plan the future with a more innovative pattern, and build dreams with broader cooperation opportunities.

At the end of the meeting,  Academician Ge Junbo announced that OCC 2025 will be held from May 29 to June 1, 2025, and invited experts and colleagues from home and abroad to gather in Shanghai again. See you there!
