I think renqiulan is a natural born poet in every Chinese

sense of the word. He would beg to differ, though. Haha.

中文词英文诗俱佳。京华一般泛指京城，不一定指北京吧，比如冠盖满京华，斯人独憔悴，杜甫指的是当时的京城长安

感谢godog对“京华”的阐释。只想说，纫秋兰“行香子”小令写的是京华；我的自由体英诗写的是北京，拙作并非中词英译。

“行香子”的特有格式，在下喜爱。

Somehow the gold digger in my poem reminds me of Zola's Nana

This novel puts Nana in the front and center of the tragic

ending days of the Napoleon III empire. Your thoughts?

O dear! I wasn't a literature major. That said, I happen to

have read Nana. I think Zola didn’t do much justice to his

protagonist. Yes, Nana's "profession" wasn't exactly

enviable. But then Nana had to make a living when eking out

an existence was anything but easy. Zola might want to paint

a French equivalent of the Byzantine empire in its twilight.

Zola was moralistic to a fault, which is why Nana the novel

is so faulty.

蓝灵, I beg to differ. I'm a big fan of Chinese poetry though.
