Explanation: The glow of the southern Milky Way and the well-known Southern
Cross are featured in this colorful skyscape recorded in April over La
Frontera, Chile. The Southern Cross (Crux) itself is at the right of the 20
degree wide field of view, topped by bright, yellowish star Gamma Crucis. A
line from Gamma Crucis through the blue star at the bottom of the cross,
Alpha Crucis, points toward the south celestial pole. Ag

nearly 0 citation for many many Chinese authored papers.
this lowers the whole factor of the journal.
I just read a paper from a famous chinese astronomer. he
basically downloaded a few movies from a couple of
NASA spacecrafts observations, and described in borken
english what he saw in these movies. that is a paper.
do you want to cite this paper? I call it pure sh*t.

ApJ, supposedly the best journal in astrophysics, is a journal
of American Astronomy Society. both the society and the publisher
need the authors' money to survive. and so far, the journal still
uses only 1 reviewer for one paper. from my point of view,
american scientists are often good to foreign authors, but
pretty strict to US authors. it is quite easy for a chinese
author to publish garbage in this top journal.

sigh，这话说的太不堪了
其实也不容易了，想想十年前哪有那么多中国作者的
文章啊
发展势头强劲啊，很多美国人都这么认为
再过几年就该注重文章质量了，现在先搞数量
你看看几十年前的ApJ，AJ，垃圾文章照样一堆一堆，
还不都是美国人写的。

我觉得主要的问题是国内学者不少paper都比较简单，
实际上再认真一点，做的再充实一点，英语再修饰一点，看上去
就会比现在好多了。老外很多citation很高的文章也不过soso。
除此之外，国内有几个组，特别是有几个人的工作还是相当不错的。
我觉得这些组应该能起带头作用，带动一下国内科研气氛。

不知道你多大年纪了,这话说得一点儿都不错,可是听了
十几年了,不愿意多听了.你听说过有人把一篇文章的
7个section分成7篇文章,在一个杂志上连载的吗?一下
就是7篇SCI,拿了70000奖金呢.数量上早就够了,没见质量
上来.当然数量上比美国还是差很多,总不能等到数量
追上美国再说质量吧.
关键要看比例.现在美国人写烂文章的也不少,可是占总数的
多少呢?
