If you are in F-1 status, completing your program at the end of the fall semester (Congratulations!), and interested in pursuing employment in the U.S., it's time to learn about the OPT (Optional Practical Training) application process.

OPT is employment authorization granted by USCIS to work in your field of study after graduation for up to 12 months. The earliest you can apply is 90 days in advance of your December 23rd program end date.

If you're completing your program this term, review ISSO's web page "Your Final Term" for information and deadlines, including but not limited to your grace period to remain in the US and obtain post-graduation work authorization: http://bit.ly/finalterm.

If your current I-20 or DS-2019 has a later completion date but you're completing your program this term, inform ISSO to update your program end date in your record so you will receive timely reminders.
