Julius (Moritz Treuenfels) is an eloquent young museum attendant loved by his friends, colleagues and his girlfriend. One day he invites his colleagues to join him for a sailing trip on his aristocratic family's sailing boat. But something goes wrong. Julius is not who he seems to be. This charming young man one gladly follows at  first, only to feel less and less comfortable with the contradictions that arise from his fluid approach to life. In this finely written and directed film about identity and social behaviour, Jöns Jönsson pushes the idea of ‘fake it till you make it’ to its breaking point. Julius impresses everyone with his worldly knowledge and free-flowing conversation embodying modern ideals of self-reinvention. Yet his behavioural patterns are in conflict with the rules of society. Unfolding with a flexibility that  echoes that of the protagonist.

An actress is mugged in front of a trendy bar in West Berlin. Barging into her, a young man takes her handbag and runs off into the night. A short while later, they meet again. Anna and Adrian. This time she is his teacher and supposed to improve his speaking skills. Adrian is an orphan and considered a “difficult case”. Anna is an actress but hasn't been working for a while. Both have strayed from their path and don’t quite fit in. The speech classes take place at Anna’s apartment. Her flat belongs to Michel, who owns the whole house. He is her biggest fan and dearest friend. Soon, the lessons turn into dinners, strolls and shared cigarettes. And eventually Anna and Adrian decide to take on the world. Cheered on by each others affection, without a penny to their name, they leave town. They want to go to France, to the seaside.

BETTINA  explores one of the most exciting and unique artists' biographies of the 20th century. Born in West Berlin in 1947, raised in East Berlin and eventually expatriated at the age of 36, Bettina Wegner has led an eventful life. A passionate Stalin admirer as a child, she grew into a hopeful teenager wanting to shape society with her songs.Bettina not only became an inspiring musician but also a resistance fighter, committed to nobody's morals but her own. It is a story of heroism, but also of grief, devotion, ups and downs, and the futility of life. BETTINA is a movie about the life of an artist whose story, which is also the story of the 20th century, speaks to us from her soul, her thoughts and her songs.

Germany 1970: Students Karl-Heinz and Hedi try to find a way to be together from across the Iron Curtain, with her in the East and him in the West. Under pressure of the GDR‘s secret police, Karl-Heinz can‘t move to East Germany and eventually Hedi has to leave the country. Her escape, disguised as a holiday trip to Romania, goes wrong in many ways.

Communist East Berlin, early 1980s: Ludger is hired by the Stasi to infiltrate a subversive countercultural move-ment in the district of Prenzlauer Berg. After falling in love with the myste­ rious Nathalie and sleeping with his first target, Corinna, Ludger ends up living two lives – one as an underground poet and one as a Stasi agent – both of which eventually come back to haunt him 30 years later.

Dina and Michael are in their early thirties. He is a doctor, she is an actress. They are happy together until Michael thinks about breaking up. She says: NOPE (NÖ). In thirteen episodes, we then accompany our two heroes while they maneuver through life over the years and try to not lose sight of their love. "NÖ" is a film about love, how to find love and our struggles to live with love. It's a film about a generation in their thirties, who have everything, who have tried everything but who often still fail silently. The film exposes hidden states of mind and at the same time shows the important impact they have on our lives.

One xenophobic remark too many: Professor Richard Pohl (Christoph Maria Herbst) is in danger of being fired from his position at the university after insulting a female law student, Naima Hamid (Nilam Farooq), in front of a packed lecture hall. When a video of the incident goes viral, university president Alexander Lambrecht (Ernst Stötzner) gives his longtime colleague one last opportunity to make amends: If the professor can succeed in mentoring Naima to win a nationwide debate competition, his chances of redemption in front of the disciplinary committee will be much better. Pohl and Naima are equally appalled at the idea of working together, but over time this unlikely pair enjoys its first success. That is, until Naima realizes that the multi-cultural fairy tale she’s been participating in was actually set up to serve one purpose only, namely to save the university’s reputation.
