• Candidate for Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related technical discipline.

• Self-starter, strong initiative

• Team player and can build relationships with others who are passionate about technology.

• Basic understanding programming languages (HTML, Python, C++), object-oriented design and methodology (Java, XML, SQL, Linux)

• Strong desire to expand your skillset and experience.

• Pursuing a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.

• 0-2 years’ experience (through internships) in software engineering.

• Has an understanding of best practices for essential software engineering areas, including testing, software version control, software development cycle, code documentation, build and deployment issues. 

• Experience with object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures and algorithms.

• Experience with tuning applications for best performance, has an understanding of performance and capacity tradeoffs.

• Reliable transportation (car, bus, carpool).

• Web languages and tools such as HTML, CSS, JQuery, JavaScript and Bootstrap;

• Languages such as C#, MVC5, ASP.NET, WCF, and SQL;

• Tools such as Visual Studio (VS), Azure DevOps;

• Web service technology;

• Unit, integration, and exploratory testing.

• Requires ability to:
  

• Understand a situation by breaking it apart into smaller pieces, and/or tracing the implications of a situation in a step-by-step causal way. 
  Analyze requirements to determine how applications function to build effective designs and tests.

• Learn and follow Urban Science’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and/or customers.   Work cooperatively with others and be part of a team.

• Develop business awareness and understanding of the business requirements of IT.

• Behave in a trustworthy and transparent manner.

• Monitor and check work deliverables ensuring high quality, accuracy and having a strong attention to detail. 

• Compose and verbally deliver information of varying levels.  Communicate ideas, facts and data in writing.

• Prioritize competing demands, manage multiple concurrent tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
