时速350公里的高铁在印尼通车,印尼老司机:可以先开慢点吗?
On Oct 2, Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway (HSR) as it was set to begin commercial operations. As a landmark project under the Belt and Road Initiative, the Jakarta-Bandung HSR is the first high-speed railway in Indonesia and even the whole of Southeast Asia.
“我想像我父亲一样,成为孩子们的骄傲”
When we first met Ali in May, he was taking the theoretical training by the Chinese teachers online at Indonesian Railway Academy in a small town called Madiun in Indonesia's East Java province.
"My first impression of the high-speed railway was not good," said Ali. But later, Ali totally changed his mind after he took the theoretical training and got to know the technology of the high-speed railway. "China adopted high-end technology in building both the system and the equipment. I think it's generous of China to share all these things to Indonesia," he added.
Ali was born into a family deeply entrenched in the railway industry. His father was also a train driver—a fact that filled young Ali with immense pride. He nostalgically recalled his childhood when his father's train had the freedom to halt at any location, allowing him the privilege to board his father's train at any moment.
为什么需要建设雅万高铁?
Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is a huge city with a population exceeding ten millions. It serves as the political and economic center of Indonesia. Bandung, a famous tourist city, is the capital of West Java Province and the fourth largest city in Indonesia, with a population of approximately 2 million.
The straight-line distance between the two cities is over 100 kilometers. Although there is no shortage of transportation options, the efficiency is not high. Due to severe traffic jam in Indonesia, the one-way journey from Jakarta to Bandung takes about 3.5 hours. In some terrible traffic conditions, it may even take 4 to 5 hours.
The high-speed rail will drastically reduce travel time between the two cities from more than three hours to just 40 minutes.
雅万高铁与众不同在哪里?
"The China-Laos Railway is designed with a speed target of 160 kilometres per hour, while the Hungary-Serbia railway, still under construction, has a projected speed target of 200 kilometres per hour. The Jakarta-Bandung HSR is the first high-speed railway constructed outside of China, achieving a speed of 350 kilometres per hour," said Ju Guojiang, the Chairman of China Railway International Co. Ltd.
