gains也不必付税,就是所谓的mega backdoor Roth IRA。如果不立刻转,gains以后需要付税。对的,59岁半可以提出。你看这篇吧,规矩我也记不全。

适合收入中高人群。
另外一个缺点是如果有Loss,那么也不能抵税。
还有一个实际的问题是,如果本身工资够高,而公司可以有比如5% match,雇员肯定想至少存5%来拿到公司的match。这样很可能雇员的贡献不到年底就碰到天花板了,那总不能说: Too bad. No more contribution or matching for you! 这种情况,为了使这样的雇员不损失公司的福利,就让雇员继续contribute beyond the $23,000 limit, but on an after-tax basis into the after-tax portion of the 401K plan until the $69,000 ceiling.
一般讨论这个401K,视角就是这一个东西。如果有其它需求,401里投多少自然要想一想。不过按常理来说,谁都不会真去投满$69000每年吧?实话说,我不主动投after tax, 被动的没办法。
