Are you a student who wants to specialize in music? Do you want to study at a music school in the United States after high school? What do you need to do to apply to music schools? How do you choose a music school? Did you know that music students can also use their music skills to get into top universities? On July 2nd, EducationUSA invites Dr. Jenny Q Chai, a lecturer in the Department of Music at the University of California, Berkeley, to introduce the application process for music schools and other opportunities for students studying music.

About the Speaker
柴琼妍博士曾就读于上海音乐学院、柯蒂斯音乐学院、曼哈顿音乐学院以及德国科隆大学音乐与舞蹈专业。现在是美国加州大学伯克利分校音乐系讲师,柯蒂斯音乐学院毕业生导师,曼哈顿音乐学院职业导师。
Dr. Jenny Q Chai studied at the Shanghai Music Conservatory, the Curtis Institute of Music, the Manhattan School of Music, and in Cologne University of Music and Dance. She is a piano faculty member of the University of California Berkeley, and alumni mentor at Curtis Institute of Music and an official career mentor at Manhattan School of Music.

我们至少会在活动开始前15分钟启动安检流程以及入场。请您携带有效并带有照片的身份证件原件进入上海美国中心,证件复印件或照片将不被接受。
Doors will open and security screening will commence 15 minutes before the program starts. You must bring a valid physical photo ID to enter the Shanghai American Center. Copies or pictures of IDs will not be accepted.
参加活动请提前报名。活动会准时开始,是否有余位视现场观众到场情况而定。为了确保所有观众的舒适和安全,并遵守防火规范,我们只能让前80位到场并成功报名参加活动的观众入场。
Please RSVP if you intend to come. Programs begin on time and seats are subject to space availability. To ensure the comfort and safety of all participants and adhere to fire codes, we can only accommodate the first 80 guests who arrive having RSVP’d.

Although masks are not currently required to attend Shanghai American Center events, audience members are free to wear them if they wish.

All personal belongings brought into the American Center will be scanned during security screening. Guests may not bring laptop computers to Shanghai American Center programs. Please note there is no place to store luggage or laptops outside the Center. Portable electronic devices, such as mobile phones, iPads and other tablets, and smartwatches are permitted. No audio or video recording of the program will be permitted.

Shanghai American Center staff may capture photos or video during the event for future promotion of American Center events. Staff will make efforts during the event to gain verbal permission from individuals whose likeness is captured in footage to be used publicly. Granting permission allows the Shanghai American Center and the U.S. Department of State permission to publish photographs or video in which participants may appear for any lawful purpose, without payment, further approval, or any other consideration in perpetuity.

Staff of the ShAC reserve all rights to refuse entry.
