In 1997, at the beginning of this film, the male and female protagonists encountered each other in a café, experiencing love at first sight. turning around and missing each other lookin always breaks my heart a lil bit. if only their eyes met one more time. Brad was so love-drunk that he clearly did not read the "Do Not Walk" sign.Claire is so dreamily distracted.

Life is funny sometimes, it gives you something and then takes something back. Nothing is lost I guess...

This movie told so many of life’s lessons we should all learn and know , loyalty, devotion , fathers love for his child , take nothing for granted and when you see that woman sitting at a table or booth or bar go up and say something you never know lightening could strike--that hit-by-a-car scene !!!!

This scene reminds me of a story my dad told me when I was a young teenager. It's the story a dog walking down a country road. He was approaching a railroad crossing when he noticed a train in the distance. The dog figured he had plenty of time to make it across the track, but as the train got closer he decided he needed to pick up the pace. Well he was soon in dead run as he tried to beat the train to the crossing. It was close, but the dog made it most of the way across when the train ran over the tip of his tail. Angry at the train the dog spun around to bite the train and it ran over his head. While I pondered this little sad story, my dad looked at me said, "Son, the moral of the story is, never loose your head over a little piece of tail." It seems Joe Black never received any advice like this, and so he lost his focus and it cost him his life. My dad was full little gyms like this and other words of wisdom that he shared with me as I grew. He died way too young and I miss him every day.

 

We should thank these people for the presentation of a moment that is possible. Not as the act of selfishness. But as hope for a shared life of good, before death. A life well lived, worthy of resting in peace. Thank You.

 

I always wondered why they never just exchanged numbers, maybe Brads character thought about it but hesitated ? these are the types of hesitations that eat at you later on, the “what if” scenarios.
