APAD: This land is your land

Meaning:

Self explanatory

 

Background:

Apparently this saying originates as the title of the well-known song written

and performed in 1956 by folk singer and guitarist Woody Guthrie which begins:

 

    This land is your land, this land is my land

    From California to the New York Island

    From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters

    This land was made for you and me.

It took Andy Dufresne 17 years to escape Shawshank. It has been costing me much

longer to break out of this elected cultural prison. For some, home is just a

Wechat call or an airplane ticket away. But I've chosen adventure, until free on

a land that can finally be called mine.

Absolutely agree, it's my land. It's funny many Chinese

believe they live in others' home even after they become

US citizens. Their "patriotism" is illusive and delusive.

And they profess that they love their kids...
