一般面试官在问你"How would your boss and co-workers describe you?"的时候,实际是想从别人的评价里了解你的能力。很多时候,王婆卖瓜自卖自夸是一件很尴尬的事情,想夸自己,又怕把握不好度显得很自大。而这个问题其实是帮你借同事之口来展示自己工作能力的绝佳机会。下面我们分享3个针对这道题的常用策略,帮你自然地自夸。
策略一:引用官方绩效评估
回答这个问题最简单的方法是引用最近一次的绩效评估。因为是官方的评价,所以你可以更轻松地从中挑一些褒义的词来描述自己。当然,小伙伴还需要提供一些背景,说明这份评价是从哪里来的,比如是“我实习的时候,带我的Manager的评价”。
下面是我们的例子:
"Actually, in my most recent performance review in March, my direct supervisor described me as someone who takes initiative and doesn't shy away from hard problems. My role involves a lot of on-site implementation, and when things go wrong, I always try my best to identify the problems and solve them first, rather than passing them to the team"
策略二:用STAR法则讲故事
另一种方法是用STAR法则讲一个完整的故事,然后用你的老板或同事描述你的方式来做总结,从而突出你的能力。
由于这个问题非常开放,而面试官在问这个问题的时候,其实也是想看看你还有没有什么让他们惊喜的能力。所以,你可以趁机提到你想展示却还没机会展示的能力。
这里,我们也准备了一个例子:
"I've noticed that people always turn to me for recommendations on organizing new event or program. For example, the latest fundraiser would be the one. My institutional knowledge was definitely helpful, but I think the reason people come to me was because the events and programs I've managed seemed very organized and methodical. So If you were to ask my colleagues, I'm confident they'd describe me as logical, organized, and meticulous."
策略三:提及积极的品质
如果你在面试的时候太紧张,没有准备好通过STAR法则来讲一个完整的故事。提及优秀的品质并且附上简短的例子也是一个很好的策略。可以通过这个例子体会一下:
"I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm pretty confident my colleagues would describe me as thoughtful and hard-working, since I'm the one in the office who organize everyone's birthday party, and I'm always staying to get my work done for the day. My boss in particular would say I'm very knowledgeable about audience development — it's why I kept taking on more and more responsibilities in that domain."
