【Poem Reading Tuesday】We wear the mask 英文诗有“平仄”吗?
Does English poetry have “平仄”?What is your answer?
To my surprise, the answer might be “Yes”.
Have you ever heard about stressed syllables or unstressed syllables?I think they might be equivalent to “平仄” of Chinese.
Here is the concept for today: Meter.
Meter is a regular pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables that defines the rhythm of some poetry. These stress patterns are defined in groupings, called feet, of two or three syllables.

Can you highlight the stressed syllables in the poem?
