Do you want to learn more about the history of the United States? Join a prominent American historian at the Beijing American Center for a series of informative and engaging talks. 

Session 9: Rebuilding America: The Lasting Legacy of Reconstruction

Join us for a lecture and open conversation led by a professional historian from the United States on Reconstruction in American history. Reconstruction was a pivotal period when Americans from the North and South sought to rebuild the United States following the devastation of the US Civil War (1861-1865). We will examine how Reconstruction marked a turning point in American history with profound implications for the country's political, social, and economic landscape. Take advantage of this opportunity to expand your knowledge of the United States and participate in a lively and candid discussion of US History. 

This event will be conducted in English.

Doors will open 30 minutes before the program starts. Please try to arrive at least 30 minutes before the program starts to allow enough time to go through security. You will NOT be admitted if you arrive 20 minutes after the program has started.

You must bring a valid physical photo ID in order to enter the Beijing American Center (BAC), copies or pictures of IDs will not be accepted.  No large bags will be allowed into the BAC for this event.  

*While portable electronic devices, such as mobile phones, iPads and other tablets, and smartwatches are permitted, guests may not bring laptop computers to Beijing American Center programs.   

For security reasons, the BAC staff reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone.

Directions: Metro Line 10, Liangmaqiao Station Exit B, walk northeast to the Tian Ze Road intersection of An Jia Lou Road, north side of the Visas Office.
