WOMAN IN MOTION FILM SCREENING & DISCUSSION WITH DR. ANNA LEE FISHER, RETIRED ASTRONAUT
与退休宇航员安娜·李·费舍尔博士一起参加电影放映并进行讨论,了解她关于STEM 女性的见解。
(本次活动为现场活动,主要使用英语进行)
Woman in Motion synopsis: In 1977, NASA struggled to recruit scientists, engineers, and astronauts for their new Space Shuttle Program. That’s when Nichelle Nichols, Star Trek’s Lt. Uhura, challenged NASA by asking the question: “Where are my people?” and embarks on a four-month campaign to recruit the first Women, Black, Latino and Asian to fly in space.
Event Format: The program will begin with the screening of the film followed by conversation with retired Astronaut Dr. Anna Lee Fisher. The format will be a talk show interview style in which Forest Yang, Environment, Science & Technology, and Health Counselor (ESTH), at Mission China will guide a 45-minutes spontaneous conversation with Anna on a wide range of topics aiming to illuminate Anna’s experiences related to the film, her trip to space, and her unique memories being part of the first group of six American women astronauts and being the first mom to ever fly to space. We also intend to capture her wisdom on women resiliency, gender equality, and inspiration answering the question: “How do we recruit and keep more women and girls in STEM?”
