春尝世味结茶缘，壶吐香魂淡淡烟。
去日天涯轻一顾，半生风雨到窗前。

Hours before her transfer to hospice care, an elderly terminal patient asked her young doctor to stay with her for a few minutes. Her request was promptly honored.
She was a tough cookie, tougher still when the going got rougher. An Auschwitz survivor, she was the only member of her large Jewish family who lived to see the last Nazi gone for good. The Nazi specter, however, kept haunting her thereafter.
Here and now, though, she assured everyone that even her Auschwitz nightmares had been gone for good lately. Why? Because she had outlived them. She said this while her smiling eyes were twinkling. Then a rabbi joined in, who happened to be an orphan she adopted from former East Germany.
