神经多元性描述了这样一种观点：人们以许多不同的方式体验他们周围的世界并与之互动；没有一种 "正确 "的思维、学习和行为方式。我们需要了解，有些儿童之所以挣扎，是因为我们不知道他们正在经历什么，也不知道他们是如何努力克服挑战的。

Neurodiversity describes the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways; there is no one "right" way of thinking, learning, and behaving. We need to understand that children struggle because we do not know what they are experiencing or how hard they are working to overcome their challenges.

上海美国中心携手ELG学健开启有关神经多元性主题的月度圆桌论坛。第一期由学建创始人、总监及高级顾问、言语语言病理学家罗雪丽博士Dr. Shari D. Rosen主持，活动将会讨论的话题包括：

1. 什么是神经多样性？

2. ND-affirming实践是什么？

3. 在课堂上，神经多元性的学生会遇到哪些困难和障碍？

4. 对于在课堂上表现不同的学生，作为老师会有哪些假设？

5. 老师需要怎么做，才能让神经多元化的学生感到更被接受？
   
   

Shanghai American Center and ELG work together to launch a monthly roundtable discussion on neurodiversity. The first session will be led by Shari D. Rosen, PhD, Founder, Director & Senior Consultant, ELG. The topics of this session will include:

1. What is neurodivergence?

2. What do we mean by ND-affirming practice?

3. What are the obstacles for neurodivergent students in a typical classroom?

4. What are some assumptions that you make about students that behave differently in the classroom?

5. How can you make neurodivergent students feel more accepted?
