美国公司真是revolving door

今天一个主管突然被宣布离职， 也不知道原因， 很突然。也见怪不怪了。世界上好像只有美国那么随便吧。欧洲要layoff 也要 3个月的notice。

待过这种地方。突然，某人就被宣布，xxx is no longer with ???. 雇员和奴隶一样

很多都不宣布。。。失踪了， 也不好问原因。没有真的 permanent job。

at will，公司和员工都可以随时terminate

公司辞你也是不需要打招呼的。进门通知被辞，有的工位都回不去，交了电脑就走人了。
主动辞职的人多半会给雇主两周notice交接工作，已经是有道德了。

at will. 挺好的。
美国的问题是基本福利太差， 要有基本医保， 还要避免恶性治安问题。

到了高层，一般都是政治斗争失利。离开也是拿钱的，单独negotiate package，但不需要什么正式的layoff之类。

所以我听别人介绍自己说哪里工作就奇怪， 这是很暂时的东西。

大部分离开的高层也都在公司很多年以后才走啊，你这是闹哪出。
走个高层，竟然也要怀疑人生？

美国大公司也有所谓 advance notice，一个月的 advance notice只是说公司给你一个月的工资。你立刻走人，有些 director level 的是六个月工资，你立刻走人，还六个月不能随便上班。

美国工作就是打一天工敲一天的钟。美国公司都很谨慎， 任何大的变化都当天宣布， 比如合并，主管走人。 也不知道在防什么。员工能做什么。
