美国驻华使团的美国中心将举办纪录片《动荡的历史:美国、中国和杜立特东京行动》的放映和讨论活动。该片讲述了一群二战美国飞行员与营救他们的中国家庭以及他们在美国和中国的后代之间的故事。欢迎大家于8月10日来上海美国中心一起观看这部纪录片,并跟与这个故事有密切联系的美国驻北京记者刘美远(Melinda Liu)女士一起探索美中历史上这一令人难忘的事件。
Mission China’s American Spaces proudly present a screening and discussion of the documentary Unsettled History: America, China, and the Doolittle Tokyo Raid. The film depicts the story of the connections between a group of American World War II pilots and the Chinese families who rescued them, and of their descendants in the U.S. and China. On August 10th, come to join us at the Shanghai American Center, where Melinda Liu, a Beijing-based American foreign correspondent with a personal connection to the story, will explore this memorable event in the history of the U.S. and China.

嘉宾介绍:
Melinda Liu(刘美远)女士是美国《Newsweek》(新闻周刊)杂志的北京记者站站长。自1998年11月至今,她一直在北京生活和工作。在她的媒体生涯中,报道了后毛泽东时代的中国现代化发展的许多方面。她曾在巴格达,第一手报道了萨达姆·侯赛因倒台;刊登该报道的《Newsweek》当期获得了媒体奖项。刘美远荣获2006年Shorenstein(肖伦斯特)新闻奖,以表彰她对亚洲的报道。
Introduction of Speaker:
Melinda Liu is Beijing Bureau Chief for Newsweek Magazine. She has lived and worked in Beijing since November 1998. In her journalistic career, Liu covered many aspects of China's post-Mao modernization. Her firsthand reporting from Baghdad on the fall of Saddam Hussein was part of an award-winning Newsweek issue. Liu won the 2006 Shorenstein Journalism Award in recognition of her reporting on Asia.

Masks are not currently required to attend Shanghai American Center events, but audience members are encouraged to feel comfortable wearing them if they wish. Please be sure to RSVP if you intend to come. Programs begin on time and seats are subject to space availability. If the room is full when you arrive, you might not be granted entry, even if you RSVP'd. We can only seat the first 80 guests at this time.

Doors will open and security screening will commence 15 minutes before the program starts. You must bring a valid physical photo ID in order to enter the Shanghai American Center (ShAC). Copies or pictures of IDs will not be accepted.

All belongings carried into the ShAC will be scanned during security screening. While guests may not bring laptop computers to Shanghai American Center programs, portable electronic devices, such as mobile phones, iPads and other tablets, and smartwatches are permitted.

Press inquiries should be directed to the U.S. Consulate Shanghai Press Office. Additionally, audio or video recording of the program will not be permitted.
